Liaison Officers: Elections Nova Scotia
Elections Nova Scotia is hiring four Liaison Officer positions (2 First Nations Liaison Officers, an African Nova Scotian Liaison Officer, and an Inclusion Liaison Officer) to support the Outreach program during the PGE. Postings close May 17, 2024.

The African Nova Scotian Liaison Officer (ANSLO), working as a member of
the Outreach Team and under the direction of the Director of Policy and
Communications, is responsible to implement the Strategy, and additional
activities identified by the African Nova Scotian communities, to ensure their
communities’ electorate needs are understood and met.
The ANSLO must remain non-partisan while working with Elections NS

The First Nations Liaison Officer (FNLO), working as a member of the
Outreach Team and under the direction of the Director of Policy and
Communications, is responsible to implement the Strategy, and additional
activities identified by First Nations communities and off-reserve
organizations, to ensure their communities’ electorate needs are understood
and met.
The FNLO position is also responsible for recruiting and supporting
Community Information Officers who will assist with the planning and
delivery of the next provincial election within each of the tribal council
communities of the Union of Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq and the Confederacy of
Mainland Mi’kmaq.

The Inclusion Liaison Officer (ILO), working as a member of the Outreach
Team and under the direction of the Director of Policy and Communications,
will work with ENS staff and community partners to implement the Outreach
Strategy, and additional activities identified by under-served communities,
to ensure their electorate needs are understood and met.

Communications and Marketing Lead: Brigadoon Village
Reporting to: Director of Operations, Director of Philanthropy
Key Collaborators: Program Managers, Philanthropy Managers, CEO
Salary Range: $55,000 – $62,000 per year
Location: This full-time position will include working from our Halifax Office and Brigadoon Village on Aylesford Lake. Work from home flexibility is available when appropriate.
Who We Are
Brigadoon Village is one of Canada’s largest pediatric medical camps. It’s a non-profit recreational facility that delivers year-round camp programming to transform the lives of Atlantic Canadian children and youth living with health conditions and other life challenges. We help them reach their full potential through experiential learning, meaningful connections and exceptional fun.
Brigadoon Village is located on Aylesford Lake in the Annapolis Valley with an office located in Halifax’s Hydrostone Market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop content using internal and external resources for timely and consistent donor and family communications including social media, direct mail and other communications
- Develop and design marketing collateral for camp programs, general branding, facility rental, and donor stewardship including Donor Impact Report and Annual Report
- Develop various communications materials including speaking notes, media releases, funding proposals, feature stories, and articles.
- Oversee website management and quality control
- Develop, implement, and oversee a strategic 12-18 month communication strategy to build brand affinity, engagement with camp stakeholders and support fundraising initiatives
- Research, understand and brief organizational leadership on Brigadoon’s audience mix and key communication opportunities and requirements.
- Work closely with key internal collaborators to find effective solutions in building our brand reputation with all audiences. This will require teamwork, prioritization and transparency as we manage activities across our team.
- Support our strategic approach to establish and maintain relationships with media (radio, print, and television) to increase media engagement with the organization.
- Acquire external resources as needed to fulfill strategic and tactical goals.
- Annually develop and manage a budget that effectively uses available resources and ensure all marketing and communications initiatives are properly allocated throughout the year.
